
2023 Winners:
This year the MA Dissertation Award panel were very impressed with the shortlisted dissertations and both were given the award. The two winners are: Peter Bannister and Thomas Willis-Jones. Peter was awarded an MSc TESOL with a Specialism in Assessment and Evaluation from the University of St Andrews and Thomas was awarded an MA Applied Linguistics and TESOL from Anglia Ruskin University.
Peter’s dissertation title is: Exploring the critical listening assessment conundrum on pre-sessional EAP programmes in Higher Education.
Thomas’s dissertation title is: ‘A problem shared…’: The use of Shared Documents in the post-pandemic classroom.

2022 Winner:
The winner of the 2022 BALEAP Masters Dissertation Award is Rob Lowton. Rob was awarded his MA from the University of Nottingham Ningbo China. The title of his dissertation is ‘The (T)EAP of the Iceberg: The Role of Qualifications in Teaching English for Academic Purposes’
