For many years, BALEAP have recognised the impact of Masters level study via the MA dissertation award.

The committee would now like to extend this recognition to doctoral level work produced by the EAP community.

To this end, we are launching an biennial ‘EAP Doctoral Studies Award’.

Applications for the award will be accepted for any successfully defended doctoral studies that focus on making an original contribution to the field of EAP.

Applicants will be asked to provide their thesis abstract, answers to some questions related to the potential impact of their work and their certificates.

Applications will be reviewed by a panel of EAP educators and supervisors.

The shortlisted applicants will then be asked to present their thesis to the panel via a 10 minute presentation.

The winner of the award will receive £325, as well as the opportunity to present their research via a guaranteed slot at a BALEAP event.

This opportunity is open to all and not restricted to BALEAP members, so please feel free to share.

We will be accepting applications from doctoral studies completed between February 2021 and February 2023.

Deadline for submissions is 14th March 2023
